At the District 12-N Convention in February 2010, Lion Nellie Harshbarger (Norris Lions Club) presented a “Change for Charities” idea to raise funds for District 12-N Charities. A big thank you, to all those who have participated!

As you may know, each year the “Walk” funds and White Cane Collections keep decreasing, and thus District 12-N keeps decreasing monies to the nine (9) charities we help support. We, as Lions, need to step up to the plate and make a change in this deficit. Not only are we not meeting the requests of the existing organizations we support, but we need a hearing aid program. This will not happen through District 12-N Charities until we can bring more funds in.

The Lions year 2009-2010 is now past and I am asking all Lions who have participated in the “Change for Charities,” to send your check (earmarked Change for Charities), to the District Treasurer, PDG Jim McFarland at 8030 White Stone Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. Thanks again to all who helped make this program a success!

NOW! A new Lions year, 2010-2011, is here, so start that jar, jug or whatever all over again, to collect your “Change for Charities.” Make this a great Lions year in “We Serve.”
