We have arranged to bring a Hawaiian setting to Knoxville for our February 2012 Convention.  No suits, no ties (except for District Governors Saturday evening), just flowered shirts and muumuus (Lions vests are always appropriate).

Registration begins at 3:00 PM through 11:30 AM on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012

Hospitality Suite is open from 3:00 – 5:30 PM and from 9:00 – 11:00 PM on Friday

Luau at 6:30 PM followed by entertainment provided by “Sound Investment and The Sweet Memories” featuring music from the movie “Blue Hawaii”.  Rumor has it that Elvis will perform some of the music from “Blue Hawaii”  Also, Karen-Taylor Good, Grammy nominated song writer, will perform some of her music.

Opening Ceremony begins 9:00 AM Saturday morning followed by Seminars and Council Meeting.

Lunch will be Hawaiian fare beginning at Noon and followed by Leader Dog Speaker, Carroll Jackson, and limited awards recognition.

The dreaded Business Meeting will follow Lunch to include issues pertaining to Constitution and By-laws, 12-N Charities Budget and Election of officers for 2012-13.

A plated dinner will be served beginning at 6:00 PM followed by inspiring words from 2^nd Year International Director Dr. Sonja “Sunny” Pulley from Portland, Oregon.  Entertainment will feature Karen-Taylor Good bringing us her heart moving stories in both words and music.  “Sound Investment and The Sweet Memories” will also make a return appearance.

Displays will be provided by our 12-N Charities.  Silent auction will help defray convention expenses with bidding closing at commencement of the Business meeting.

We have arranged for free parking at the hotel for all who attend, whether staying at the hotel or not.  Room rates are $86.00 plus tax per night and must be made directly with the hotel (865) 522-2600.  Mention Lions Convention for this special rate.

Directions to the Knoxville Crowne Plaza Hotel - 

• If coming from the West:  I-40 to exit #388A, James White Pkwy, take Summit Hill Dr. exit off Pkwy. Turn right at traffic signal, go through 3 traffic signals, Hotel is on the right.
• If coming from the East:  Exit #388A, James White Pkwy, take Summit Hill Dr. exit off Pkwy and follow direction above. 
• If coming from the North:  I-75 South to I-275 South to I-40 East, then follow I-40 East Directions above.
