HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well 2013 is here. Hope everyone had a great holiday season visiting your family and friends.

Did everyone watch the Rose Bowl Parade? If not you missed seeing the Lions International Float with International President Wayne Madden and his wife riding on the float. It was great!

I just want to remind you about the up- coming events in the next couple of months.

• Lions Learning Retreat – January 11-13, 2013
• District Convention – February 22, 23 2013 (Deadline registration, February 1) Please read the recommended changes to the 12-N Constitution and be ready to vote on those changes. They are also posted on the web site. For those who do not have internet, you should have a printed copy in this mailing.
• State Convention – May 3-5, 2013
• Day with the Lions – May 18, 2013

You can find all the information about the above mentioned events on the district website. I look forward to meeting all of you at these events. We need to remember as Lions “We Serve” and we do it with pride. These events help us to renew our spirit by talking and learning from other Lions.

I was reminded the other day of the definition of “Serve”; it means to contribute to the welfare of others. Think about it for a moment. It is NOT about me or you. It is about the welfare of others. Many of you do this very well. I thank you.
