District Governor Keltie’s Post – September 2024
DO YOU REMEMBER
Do you remember the anticipation of returning to school after summer break? Do you remember the excitement of the end of the year and summer break?
Someone may say to you – do you remember “the good ole days”? Or another phrase is “do you remember when we had a TV without remote control?”
Recently a young woman shared with me that she remembered when the Lions came to her school and examined her vision. Another lady shared with me that she remembered when the Lions club bought eyeglasses for her mother. Comments like the above are not uncommon given the many service projects the clubs in District 12-N provide. Lions are helping make memories for hundreds of individuals in many ways in the communities WE SERVE.
Let’s continue to engage within our communities and hear more stories about how someone “remembered” how the Lions impacted their life. And please, report your service hours.
Service projects abound among our clubs. The eight global causes of vision, youth, hunger, diabetes, environment, disaster relief, and humanitarian cover a wide array of potential service projects. Whether you are starting a new service project or whether you have “Taken Flight” to higher depths of service – please know that I appreciate all you do as you serve with kindness and love. And, again, please report your service hours.
Have you given any thought to how you or your club would like to be remembered? I personally would like to be known as “She Served”.
Serving with you – DG Keltie
