East Tennessee Lions, District 12N, Impacts Communities!
Each year, East Tennessee Lions, District 12N members initiate community service projects that support the Lions eight International global causes. Clubs are meeting unique community needs in meaningful ways. Some of the projects include:
- Eye screenings for preschool and elementary age children
- Purchasing eyeglasses and financial assistance for eye exams and other eye care needs
- Collecting donated eyeglasses for recycling
- Packing lunches for children in after-school programs
- Preparing food for community meals
- Providing food and clothing for shelters
- Collecting belts for Care Cuts
- Hosting an egg hunt for a Senior Living Center
- 10,000 pairs of eyeglasses provided by Smoky Mountain Vision Van
- Maintaining the Boundless Playground Braille Trail at Warrior’s Path State Park
- Diabetes Education initiatives
- Supporting A1C testing in conjunction with other non-profit organizations
- Purchasing washers and dryers for community centers
- Providing toys, games and hygiene kits for Children’s Hospitals
- Collecting plastic bags, plastic wraps and crayons for recycling
Since September 28, 2024, East Tennessee Lions, District 12N, have been heavily involved in Hurricane Helene disaster relief activities. These efforts have provided immediate needs for residents in the heavily impacted counties of Johnson, Unicoi, Carter, Washington, Cocke, and Greene. These efforts are anticipated to last for several years.
Thank you, East Tennessee Lions, for your generosity in your ongoing efforts “To Serve ” our communities. Your continued support has directly benefited hundreds of individuals. I am grateful for all Lions for your efforts to plan and execute each service project and your fund raising efforts. These activities help to bring togetherness and unity as Lions come together in impactful ways.
Also, thank you for continuing to recruit new members who will enable Lions to provide even more service projects. Let’s celebrate the new Sevierville Lions Club which received their official charter from LCI on April 15, 2025.
