Serving in Rhythm

I attended the 108th Lions International Convention in Hong Kong July 3-7, along with the other 4 District Governors from Tennessee. This convention brought together over 17,000 Lions from more than 140 countries for a five‑day global gathering focused on service, leadership, and cultural exchange. I was able to participate in forums, professional seminars, and workshops exploring modern community service, philanthropy, and leadership development, and witness our new International President Mark Lyon being elected. His theme is “Rooted in Service” which certainly fits our district. Another highlight was a world‑record Tai Chi event featuring 4,000 Lions from six continents, underscoring unity and wellness. We also engaged directly with Hong Kong communities through several service projects. But for me the best part was meeting and networking with Lions from all around the world. It was a great experience, and I hope to bring some of the things that I learned back to our district to help strengthen our clubs.
