District Governor Brandon’s Share – August 2018
Lions,
Wow – what an honor to officially address you as District Governor! I spent 12 days in Las Vegas at the International Convention for training before taking the helm of District 12-N. The days in class were long, and the temperatures were high, but it was a great experience all around!
As many of you know, our new International President is Gudrun Yngvadottir from Iceland. She is our first female International President, and I am incredibly honored to serve under her. I’m thrilled to announce that President Gudrun will be our District Convention Guest Speaker this year! Having the sitting International President is a huge honor for our District, and I hope this will encourage you to attend.
Club visits are well underway, and I started by visiting my home club of Campbell County. This year, I will be giving special Lions as District Governor’s Medal. I’m proud to say that the first award went to my father, who is a proud Campbell County Lion.
I’ve also visited Fountain City, Hamblen County, East Knox, Tellico Village, and Newport. It was a busy July!
We ended July by having our organizational meeting, called “Lions on the Lake.” Nearly 75 Lions attended our gathering, and enjoyed quality fellowship and food. If our first meeting’s attendance was any indicator of how this year will be, then it’s going to be great!
In Lionism,
Brandon
