District Governor Paulette’s Post – May 2022
Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom’s out there next week!
Here we go again! Wildfires in Sevier County and Seymour! Thank goodness there were no fatalities that we are aware of and though several thousand structures were burned the individual families affected were a lot less. Thanks to the Sevier County and Knoxville Tri-County Lions for reaching out to their communities to assist where possible. District 12N received a $10,000 emergency grant and along with the Sevier County Lions, we allowed families affected by the fires to shop for personal necessities on three different occasions at two different stores. WE SERVE and hope that our efforts will make at least a small impact towards their recovery process.
We are getting close to the end of our Lions year and I ask all of you to please make a concerted effort to welcome some new Lions into our organization. Our current membership is still slightly positive but we all know what happens come June when memberships are not renewed and we drop many Lions! Let’s end this year on a positive note!
Thank you all!
Yours in Lionism,
-DG Paulette Bailey
