District Governor Rich’s Post – November 2022
‘BETWEEN THE LIONS’
We are less than a month away from the District 12N 3rd Annual Food Packing event. We need to have total
participation from our 42 Clubs to be a success. There are multiple roles for participation, and we will find the right one for everyone that volunteers. Please submit your volunteer hours on the form that you will find elsewhere in this month’s News & Views ASAP as we attempt our goal of 50,000 meals!
District 12N Lions that attended the Fall cabinet meeting on October 1st were treated to a behind the scenes program called ‘Food4Vols.’ Chef Tyler White of the UT Knoxville Culinary Institute Program outlined the goals of total sustainability of food sourcing on campus and treated everyone to a gourmet lunch. We will explore ways that we can partner with their program and focus on one of the Lions International causes: hunger.
November 14th is World Diabetes Day. This is a great time to partner with your local health organizations, your UT field programs and get the word out. Get involved | World Diabetes Day builds awareness. There is a wealth of information to distribute. Consider a speaker for your club meeting.
The holidays are fast approaching. Receiving a Christmas card from a Lion’s Club means a lot if you are serving in the military or a resident nursing home shut in.
Keep up the magnificent work in your community and keep posting your photos on social media or the District 12N Newsletter. See you in December…
