District Governor Rich’s Post – August 2022
‘BETWEEN THE LIONS’
My second month as your DG starts off with an urgent plea to ALL Lions in District 12N: We need to fill vacancies. Multiple positions are open: 2nd VDG, Zone & Region Chairs plus individual club
officers. Let’s make this a priority for August 2022 to step up and fill a vacancy. I realize the time constraints plus the term limits placed on Clubs due to International Constitution and By-law changes, but we have veteran Lions who will give you the best training, rebate registration fees (scholarships) and help with the financials of traveling, etc. Do some soul searching, ask a new member, you will not regret it but remember “We Serve” also applies to your fellow Lions.
Part of my 2022-2023 agenda will be to implement the Global Membership Approach to stop the decline in membership. There are four (4) Areas of Focus:
- Rejuvenate districts with new clubs.
- Revitalize clubs with new members.
- Re-motivate members with new fellowships and exciting service projects for involvement.
- Provide training and support for your Lion Leaders.
My next item(s) on the agenda is to have a minimum of one district wide project for each one of the five Lions’ causes: Diabetes, Environment, Hunger, Childhood Cancer and Vision.
We have the best clubs in the state, and I will work the hardest to see that you get the Club Excellence Awards in 2023 that your members deserve!
As always, your comments and suggestions are more than welcome. Please share them and thanks for your time.
