District Governor Paulette’s Post – November 2016
Wow – what an exciting Fall we are having in District 12-N – Charter Night at Knoxville Downtown, an Anniversary celebration in Powell, a Car show and Freaky Friday for Farragut, a Turtle Derby in Johnson City, a Blind-fold dinner hosted by the Halls Club and canvassing in Sevierville. A special thanks for the warm hospitality I received on my club visits to Powell, West Knox, Maryville, Greeneville, Newport, Harriman, Rogersville, and Campbell County. I love the club visits and getting to meet the great members we have and learn about what they are doing in their communities.
In the middle of the month I spent several days working with MD-12 lions at the International Board of Directors meeting in Nashville. We had the opportunity to mingle with the International Directors and spouses, attend a Board meeting and the TN Lions hosted a reception and Board dinner. It was a great experience!
If you were not at the Fall Forum we held at Walter State Community College on October 8th, you missed some great seminars and a terrific motivational speaker, Diane Pitts from South Carolina. The evaluations all came back positive and we will most likely plan another such Forum next Fall so stay tuned and feel free to offer any suggestions for topics you might be interested in.
Lastly, thank you very much to the clubs participating in our Centennial Service Card Project – writing thank you cards to our military personnel and first responders! We currently have 17 clubs participating in this worthwhile project and I still have cards available if you are interested in participating as well.
As we enter our holiday season of Thanksgiving and celebrating with our loved ones, let’s remember those less fortunate and say an extra special prayer for them.
From my family to yours – Happy Thanksgiving!
Yours in Lionism,
-DG Paulette
