District Governor Paulette’s Post – January/February 2017
HERE’S to 2017
Happy New Year Fellow Lions – Are you ready to hit the ground running! We have a lot of activities coming up with the Lions Learning Retreat, Jan 20-22, our District 12N Convention, Feb 24-25, continuing Centennial Celebration activities, our State Convention May 5-7 and, of course, our big 100th Centennial International Convention June 30 – July 4th in Chicago.
What a busy 2016 we had and thanks to the support of our Lions we accomplished a lot with our Service Card Project (still on-going), awesome club visits and the overwhelming support and donations for the Gatlinburg Wildfire Relief Efforts. It is heartwarming to see how the clubs, state and nation pulled together to aid the families of this disaster. It truly makes me proud to be a Lion. Thanks to the tremendous donations that have come in to the District and our GoFundMe account we will continue to serve the needs of Sevier County as they are identified. Thank you to all.
For those clubs that I have not been able to visit yet – have faith, I will try my best to get to you within the next couple months! I commend those that have already done something for their Centennial /Legacy Projects and urge the rest of you to do something regarding 100. All of us need to remember to post it on MyLCI in our Service Activities.
Thanks for all you do and I look forward to seeing you at some of the upcoming events.
Yours in Lionism,
-DG Paulette
