District Governor’s Message – December 2015
From the DG’s Desk
Hello, Fellow Lions!
It’s been an exciting month as our district clubs are continuing to serve communities across East Tennessee. We held our Fall Cabinet Meeting at LVBI on November 14th, and MD-12 meeting in Nashville on the 6th and 7th. We have applied for two grants from LCIF. The first one has been approved to purchase eye screening equipment for Rogersville Club, and the second is in the works. Peace Posters have been selected for our district and will go to MD-12 on December 11th.
The District 12-N winner will be announced at our convention February 19th/20th, and the MD-12 winner to be announced at the State Convention. It is great to be a Lion!
Membership is close to 1,000 members. How-ever, we could use a push to bust us across the mark. Membership is vital to our communities. Our members are the “WE” in “We Serve.” The more Lions to serve, the more we can serve!
Club visits were few this past month, but none the less exciting. Thank you Newport, Kingston, White Pine and Inskip Lions Clubs for you hospitality. It’s so much fun visiting clubs, and meeting the wonderful Lions of 12-N.
Jackie and I wish you all a happy and safe Holiday season.
– Fletcher Stephens, District Governor
