District Governor Keltie’s Post – January 2025
2025 – A New Year for Lions TO SERVE Abundantly! How does that sound?
It’s that time when people are making resolutions, so as Lions let’s join in as Clubs and individuals and as Nike would say, “Just Do It” or Make our Mark or Take Flight!
Let’s review the Lions Club International Code of Ethics, which includes endorsing and following the principles:
Be Ethical: Always act ethically and fairly.
Be Loyal: Be loyal to those in need, to your Lions club members, to your nation, to your state and to your community.
Be Generous: Help others, especially those who are less fortunate.
To Be Careful: With your criticism and liberal with your praise.
To Aid Others: By giving your sympathy to those in distress, by giving your aid to the weak and substance to the needy.
Always: Bear in mind Lions obligation as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community.
To Encourage and Set an Example: for people to want To Serve.
To follow the Lions Core Values: To maintain Club and Member integrity – as fiscal responsibility drives every decision made. Every donation to LCIF is applied toward global programs and initiatives.
Resolve to – JUST STOP IT! Stop any thought or action that interferes with increasing the ability of Lions TO SERVE and increase the impact of Lions here and around the World.
The theme of the Lions International Peace Poster contest this year was – Peace Without Limits. This theme will continue throughout the East Tennessee Lions District 12-N Convention, March 28 and 29, 2025 as we encourage – Peace without Limits.
Peace, Love and Happiness for 2025 as we say goodbye to 2024!
Serving with you – DG Keltie
