District Governor Frank’s Message – April 2024
Get Your House in Order
If its one thing I enjoy is doing a little old fashioned house cleaning. Getting rid of all the clutter, putting things where they go and maintaining that ordinary style of life. It rubs off on how we organize our everyday lives. So, there is something positive about getting your house in order.
It burns calories, your house looks better, and you are not tripping or procrastinating. You know, positive!
Can we do the same with our club? Yes! We can first help our club by registering the club officers for the new fiscal year. You must have the correct officers needed to operate your club efficiently. Meeting times are important. Do you want to change or keep the same meeting time? That is important to attract new members, the District Governor visits and guest speakers. This can also lend a hand in member retention. Many improvements that a club does not take into consideration can be a negative. Meeting on a different day or time might help.
Investing quality time in navigating the Lions Portal can be effective. All you need is a working email address, not a shared one. There are many ways one can benefit. Clubs can report on service projects as well as fundraisers. Fellow lions can shop for merchandise.
Use the search engine to find the steps in forming a food pantry or create a childhood cancer support group. All Lions can do officer training to educate themselves on officer positions for the new year. More importantly, Lions club members can find out how L.C.I.F. can have a positive impact on community service or even assist with estate planning.
To bring meaning to all this organizing, hold a special installation service for all the new club officers with all the club there for support. This signifies new club officers as well as new innovative ideas. It is never too late to serve. Lions are inclusive. Lions are not exclusive. RRROARRRR!
Yours in Lionism,
DG Frank McCall
