District Governor Carol’s Message – May 2020
Roar Lions,
I hope this finds you and yours well. I also hope your club is well. That means your members have kept in touch with family, friends, neighbors and each other.
I have heard a lot lately about people experiencing depression and its side effects. It is hard to stay home and not do the things you have always done. I am basically a positive person, but in the past have struggle even had thoughts of suicide. But you know what I have learned from those years. Doing things for others makes me feel better about myself. Maybe that is why I like
being a Lion. So many opportunities to help someone who needs it.
Currently, it is hard to find ways to help others. Why don’t we spend some time looking to the future? One day we will be able to get together with our friends and club members again. We will talk about the things we did during this time. I wonder how many new service project ideas we have discovered during this time. Maybe it is just an idea or a fully formed project. What ever it is we can get a head start on it by talking it over with our club members. Let us use the remaining down time to get creative so when we can get back together in person, we will be ready to try something new. I am interested in learning what you are considering.
