District Governor Nathanael’s Message – September 2025
“Planting the Seeds of Service that Stand the Test of Time”
It’s hard to believe that two months have already passed as being District Governor for Lions District 12-N. Our net membership is up, we received our disaster preparedness grant from LCIF, and we are continuing to serve, communicate and collaborate.
I enjoyed my club visits last month and was honored to participate in Clinton Lions Club 85th anniversary! Back in 1940, the Maryville Lions Club chose to sponsor the Clinton Lions Club. It’s now a 35-minute drive from Clinton to Maryville. Think back to 1940 how much longer it would have taken to get there. Also, there were no cell phones or email. I am thankful for the conversations that took place to inspire the Clinton Lions Club to start; and the dedication it took to get the club up and running. Think about all the people that were served over that 85-year period and are continuing to be served.
We never know when we plant a seed what that will grow into. I wonder if the sponsoring members knew that what they helped start would be around 85 years later… continue to plant those seeds.
In Service, Nathanael Hughes, District Governor
