District Governor’s Message – June 2013
Hello Fellow Lions!
If you missed “The Day with the Lions” event, you really missed a great time.
There was NO RAIN, good food, games, walk, car show, eye screenings, ear screenings, diabetes screening, blood pressure screenings, Lion Paws and face paintings.
Oh wait, did I forget that we had a dunking tank. It was great seeing everyone get dunked. There was Lion Fletcher Stephens, Past District Governor Bill Slover, District-Governor Elect Mike McDonough and of course me. We all got wet. I had never been in a dunk tank before. It’s quite exhilarating! The water was cold, but that was part of the fun. You should have been there. Thank you to everyone who participated. You are an awesome group of Lions to work with.
My time is winding down and I want to say THANK YOU to all my Cabinet officers, committee chairs, clubs and club members who have supported my efforts as District Governor to help our district during this past year. I enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you and your clubs better. Thank you for your kindness, your criticism, and your hospitality, all of which has made me grow personally.
I have asked District Governor-Elect Mike McDonough to say a few words in this edition of the News & Views so that you may get to know him and his goals for the 2013-2014 year. Please read what he has to say so that we may assist him in reaching his goals.
Thanks for all you do.
Diane Wilkerson
District Governor 12-N, 2012 – 2013
