District Governor Millie’s Memo – December 2020
Dear District 12N Lions,
I am so impressed with how the Lions in District 12N are continuing to come up with creative ways of helping their Communities. In an effort to assist the Clubs during this uncertain time the District has come up with what we think are a couple of creative solutions as well.
December 8, 2020 we will be packaging meals in partnership
with Operation Inasmuch and the District is paying the cost in order to help the Clubs provide food for those in need. With the uncertainties that Covid 19 has presented, we understand that people may not feel comfortable helping to package the meals that day. What we really would like to see is that all Clubs take their share to distribute to their Communities. With everyone’s safety and comfort level in mind we will be providing curbside pick up and encourage Clubs to partner and or coordinate with other Clubs in their area so that all of the food will all be dispersed on December 8th. The information which was sent out in November is included in this issue of News & Views. If you missed the deadline, please contact 1st VDG Paulette Bailey 423-371- 9738 cell or email her at ladipee@gmail.com as she is doing the scheduling for this project and will find room for you. We are hoping for 100% Club participation in distributing these meals.
Keep your eyes out for information which will be coming soon about the District Community Impact Grant from LCIF. We are working on finalizing criteria for this, but it appears that each Club will be eligible for $250.00 and Leo Clubs $50.00 to help those in need. Both projects will help fill in for some of the funds that Clubs normally would have raised.
Sincerely,
Millie Burke, DG
