District Governor Keltie’s Post – June 2025
There is a Time, a Place and a Season for everything!
Transition time is near. Our next DG Team – Nate, Wayne and Kim – are Awesome! They are prepared, capable and ready to hit the ground running. Thanks to each for stepping up and being willing to serve in leadership roles.
Thank you for the opportunity to SERVE as District Governor for East Tennessee Lions, District 12N. The year started off with a planned smooth flight, beginning with a pre-organizational meeting where Lions worked thru a SWOT discussion – Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats to the District. Then Hurricane Helene tore through Northeast TN, changing our flight path. Lions immediately engaged in disaster relief activities, which are ongoing, and which seem to be a new normal for Lions. Members primarily served the heavily affected counties of Cocke, Carter, Unicoi, Johnson, Washington, and Greene.
We are most thankful for the significant donations from West Tennessee Lions. Sergent TX Lions, Wisconsin Lions and several other clubs provided generous donations. Thank you to the members of all Clubs across the District who continued to SERVE and meet your unique community needs.
What’s Next? I offer a few thoughts. . .
- Take more Action photos (PIP Brian endorses)
- Don’t sweat the small stuff
- Recruit more members, so we may serve more
- Capture the important moments
- Extend an Olive Branch, Kindness Matters
- Continue to Serve Abundantly
- Support LCIF – 12N has received several grants already and two grant applications are in their office now from 12N
- Report Service Hours, I repeat, Report Service Hours
Whether it’s “Together We Can”, “Changing the World”, “Make Your Mark” or “Taking Flight” – we are all in this together. Let’s Lighten Up! Enjoy the journey “To Serve”. We never know where the next need may be; however, where there is a need, there is a Lion. There’s still much work to accomplish up until June 30, including club visits.
Serving with you,
DG Keltie
