District Governor Paulette’s Post – August 2016
WATCH OUT DISTRICT 12N – HERE WE COME!
We’re already off to a great start for the 2016-2017 Lions year.
I started out riding in the July 4th Loudon Lions parade and that afternoon PDG Chuck and I shared some good fellowship and food with the Norris Club at their community “Norris Day” event. It was a huge celebration all day long.
We had a great organizational meeting and I appreciate all the clubs that were able to attend and hopefully we’ll catch the rest of you at the next meeting. I then had the pleasure of installing the Fountain City Lions Club officers, shared some good fellowship and took
a walk around the Fountain City Park maintained by the Lions. This is just the beginning of a year full of club visits and attending as many events as I possibly can and I can’t wait to come see your club.
For those who missed the Organizational meeting I have issued a challenge to the District regarding membership growth. Clubs with the largest percentage growth between July 1st and January 31st are up for a membership growth award in either bronze, silver or gold. This allows even the smallest club to get an award. Wouldn’t it be great to award more than one bronze statue if we have some ties in membership numbers! So let’s climb that next mountain in service and get others to join our ranks for the success of our clubs and our district.
An attachment to this News & Views Issue is a Registration Form for a Fall Forum being held October 8th at Walter State Community College from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. This will be a day
of learning opportunities and two service projects. Motivational speaker PCC Diane Pitts will be our luncheon speaker. I hope you will consider attending and mail in your complete
registration form as soon as possible.
Thank you and please feel free to call on me or one of my Governor Team members to assist your needs.
Yours in Lionism,
-DG Paulette
