Norris Lions Club President Jim Gilson (R), presents Melvin Jones Fellowship to Lion Roy Langheld (L)

Roy Langheld, member of the Norris Lions Club, was presented with the Melvin Jones Fellowship award during the Lions Club meeting August 18, 2011, at the Norris United Methodist Church.

Langheld, a member since the fall of 2000, has served on the Norris Lions Club’s Board of Directors and currently holds the office of Second Vice President.

Several years ago as Norris Lions President, Langheld co-chaired with Lion Dean Harshbarger the Lions’ construction project for the pavilion at the Norris Commons.  He has been involved in such projects as the Norris Day celebration on July 4th, and he has organized the annual Lions Turkey Shoot that takes place during October for the past several years.

“I am really proud that the Norris Lions Club has voted to honor me with this award.  The Norris Lions Club is a wonderful organization—to receive such an honor from this group is very special,” says Langheld.
